Latinx students are now the largest minority group in American schools, and Latinx are the fastest-growing segment of the population in the United States workforce. As the Hispanic population in this country continues to grow, school districts throughout the nation are being impacted. Schools are now dealing with addressing the needs of a changing population that may have a different culture, language and learning style. WHO CAN JOIN: The Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS) is a nonprofit organization effectively serving the educational needs of Latinx youth through the professional development of administrators, and was established to partner with Hispanic serving schools to assist educators in advocating for resources and policies that benefit students in general and Hispanic students in particular. In order to help us achieve this goal, we invite you to become a member of ALAS!
Members of ALAS join forces with more than 6,000 of their peers from across the country with the mission to provide leadership at the national level that assures every school in America effectively serves the educational needs of all students, with an emphasis on Latinx youth, by building capacity, promoting best practices and transforming educational institutions.
